Bank of Palestine was granted the ISO 9001:2015 global certification from Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, adopting the United Kingdom Accreditation Service by which the bank fulfilled the international standards of quality management systems, making it the first bank in Palestine to receive such certification.

Mr. Rushdi Ghalayini, the General Manager of Bank of Palestine, stated the this certification is a result of the bank’s interest and commitment to the application of global standards for quality management systems in the work mechanisms and services it provides, whether to businesses, individuals, micro, small and medium size enterprise, or the services provided to Palestinians living in the Diaspora. Ghalayini pointed out that Bank of Palestine is considered one of the first banks in the Middle East to obtain this certification, referring to it as “an opportunity to promote its capacity in improving and developing the quality of services provided in the most effective way possible,” stated Ghalayini.

According to Ghalayini, this achievement places Bank of Palestine at the threshold of yet another stage of development and advancement to become more capable of responding to the needs of customers in a more effective manner, by holding on to every opportunity available, taking precautions against future risks while conducting its operations, managing time, expenses and resources more effectively, avoiding gaps, and encouraging customers to work in a more organized and effective manner.

The ISO 9001:2015 global certification indicates that Bank of Palestine is applying the risk-based thinking approach to identify risks and opportunities confronted by the bank internally and externally, as well as mitigate or eliminate risks and benefit from all opportunities that work in favor of the institution. This approach is considered effective in the creation of a more comprehensive quality and operations management system.

Engineer Yasmine Abu Baker, the Executive Director of Mak International – the authorized representative of Lloyd’s Register in Palestine, stressed that this certification crowns the efforts conducted by the BoP team and the high commitment of higher management to the global requirements of ISO 9001-2015.
