Palestino ‘the Chilean Team’ Arrives to Bethlehem

The City of Bethlehem has joyfully received the Chilean team 'Palestino' who is visiting the Palestinian Territories after the invitation of Bank of Palestine which will continue until the sixth of this month.
The mission, which includes 21 players and executives, will make three friendly games with ALmukaber Team, Askar Centre Team, and Hebron Youth Team.
'Palestino' team will have solidarity activities with the Palestinian people; e.g., olive picking as well as visiting some towns and villages and refugee camps, institutions and clubs.
The delegation was welcomed in the city of Bethlehem by Mr. Hashim Shawa, Chairman and General Manager of Bank of Palestine and a staff members of BOP, in addition to the representatives of the Palestinian Federation of Football Mr. Azzam Ismail, Mr. Mohammed Abu Srour, Mr. Mahmoud Khalifa, , and a number of journalists .
The delegation held a press conference that included Mr. Shawa, Mr. Ahmed Awida, the Executive Director of the Palestine Stock Market and Mr. Josn Dlacroz, the Chilean Ambassador to the Palestinian National Authority, and Francisco Feroz, coach of the Chile team.
Mr. Shawa said ‘we first visited Chile with a group of businessmen and we were happy to find a team that has the name of Palestine and took from the Palestinian flag a uniform and a logo. Adding that it is our duty at Bank of Palestine to exclusively sponsor this team for the year 2009-2010’.
